I've
found my forever home! |
|
Hi, my name is Panda, and I don’t do ANYTHING
half-heartedly! I am a Border Collie/Australian Cattle Dog (ACDs
are also known as Heelers) mix – and a very sensitive and
perceptive one at that. I am just barely a year old and am still
finding out about the world – and wow, what an incredible
place it is! The best part of it all so far is that I had the
good luck to land in rescue.
Panda arrived at Jen & Anthony's on 01/02/10
and was adopted on 03/12/10!

Tyler was surrendered for "killing livestock"
at the ripe old age of 4 months. Because of his "history
of aggression" he was unadoptable at the shelter and they
called WBCR to save him! We fell in love with his calm sweet personality
and Tyler is here to stay.
He's Anthony's new agility dog-in-training!
Tyler arrived at Jen & Anthony's on 11/03/09
and we adopted him on 12/06/10!

Loki came to WBCR from a shelter, and not much is known about
his past. It is clear, however, that even though this lad is
still just a pup, he is VERY well-trained. He knows basic commands,
knows not to jump up on people (although sometimes his enthusiasm
gets the better of him in that department!) and is completely
housebroken. All he really needs work on is learning not to
pull on the leash (an easy fix if you have an Easy Walk harness!)
and recall when he is off-leash. He enjoys crate-time when he's
tired (rare!) or when he has a yummy Kong or other such chew
treat. Loki is approx. 1 year old and fully vetted & microchipped.
Loki arrived at Jen & Anthony's on 10/14/09 and was adopted
on 10/24/09!

Eek! Have you ever seen anything so CUTE?? Tillie
is a little BC mix girl just oozing with character, and at just
8 months old, she's still ALL puppy...and a well-adjusted, happy,
goofy one at that!
Tillie was found running down a busy highway in
eastern CO and was rescued by a good samaritan, who contacted
us at WBCR. We haven't had her long, but it is already clear she
has the makings of a top-notch canine companion!
Tillie arrived at Jen & Anthony's on 8/30/09.
and was adopted on 10/4/09!

Zoie is a 9-mth-old female BC girlie rescued
from a NE vet clinic that took her in as a stray in mid-July.
We rescued her from the clinic in late July, and
know that she is one of the most uniquely marked dogs we've ever
seen. She is also as smart & sweet as she is striking! She
loooooves children, other dogs (and is very submissive to them),
and can be a little tentative at first with some men. She's been
spayed and fully vetted.
Zoie arrived at Jen & Anthony's on 7/26/09
and was adopted on 8/23/09!

Joey was adopted out and then returned because he was obsessing
over the resident cat so much that he was losing all of his
hair and not getting any sleep! Jen & Anthony don't have
any cats so they were able to take him in until he could find
a new cat-less home. He is very sweet and loved to play!
Joey arrived at Jen & Anthony's on 4/28/09 and was adopted
on 6/11/09!

Wow! What a super nice, well-adjusted, happy
and agreeable young man we have here! This grinnin’ goofball
is a 2 year old tricolor BC/Aussie mix who turned up in a shelter
in Colorado. WBCR was able to take him in, and has discovered
him to be a fabulous young fellow.
Jaxon is neutered and up-to-date on vaccinations.
He arrived at Jen & Anthony's on 3/11/09 and was adopted on
4/19/09.

Sprocket is a 7 month old BC mix who has energy
to spare! He is on the small side, weighing in at only 18lbs (we
suspect there might be some terrier in there). He has typical
BC smarts and catches on quickly to new commands. Sprocket is
a typical puppy who needs lots of chewies and exercise to keep
him happy, healthy, and well behaved. Sprocket is a little guy
who’s big on energy, so needs a firm leader who will be
consistent with training and keep him mentally & physically
exercised.
Sprocket arrived at Jen & Anthony's on 1/4/09
and was adopted on 2/15/09!

Nip is about 7 years young and was brought into
rescue in late November, 2007 from his former “home”
in SW Colorado. The term “home” is used very loosely
here, as Nip and his brother Tuck were locked in an outdoor chain
link kennel 24/7 with sporadic food and little/no water for months
on end until someone contacted WBCR about them, asking for their
help.
Nip loves to collect tennis balls (click
here to check out a video of Nip "collecting"),
hang out with his people, and go for car rides!
Nip arrived at Jen & Anthony's on 10/11/08
and was adopted on 11/10/08!

Gwyn is a short-hair Border Collie mix, approximately
6 months old. She weighs about 20-25 lbs, is spayed, & current
on vaccinations.
Gwyn is a total sweetheart, and loves both people
and other dogs! She is very smart and very sweet, and loves to
PLAY PLAY PLAY! Gwyn would play all day & night with our dogs
if she could! She loves toys and chewies, and will run after a
ball, although she’s still learning to bring it back again.
She arrived at Jen & Anthony's on 7/10/08
and was adopted on 9/1/08!
She was a Wyoming
BC Rescue foster dog! |

Hi, I'm Kit, about 1 years old and I LOVE to
run after the ball! I'm okay with other dogs after a few minutes
of introduction, but I am NOT good with cats!
I love people attention & will trade kisses
for pets! What a love bug!
I arrived on 4/7/08 and was adopted on 5/14/08!

Cattle Dog!
I LOVE to play with all the dogs around here, and love people
attention too!
I arrived on 4/26/08 and was adopted on 5/04/08 to a family
with another 6 month old cattle dog who needed a playmate!

Daisy is about 13 weeks old. Her mom is a Border
Collie but we are unsure as to her father. She is a sister to
Bear, even though they look nothing alike! Daisy is VERY smart,
and LOVES her crate! (She is known as Prancer on the Border Collie
website.)
Daisy arrived on 1/31/07 and was adopted on 3/24/08.

Bear is about 13 weeks old. His mom is a Border
Collie but his father definately looks like he could have been
a Lab! Bear loves to play! He is a very good boy in his crate
as well. (He is known as Dasher on the Border Collie website.)
Bear arrived on 1/31/07 and was adopted on 3/9/08.

Alex is about 3 years old and was found as a
stray. We do not know how is around kids but he seems like he
would be a great family dog! He loves to play with our dogs but
is also content to lay at our feet as well. He loves pets and
wiggles his butt when you are giving him attention!
Alex arrived on 1/27/08 and was adopted on 2/15/08. |

Hi, my name is Skeeter! I'm about 2 months old in this picture
and am such a darling little boy! I'm pretty good about jumping
and just love to be around you. Once I know you are watching,
I'm quite a show off. :) I'm really good about waiting to go
outside to potty, and I'm a total cuddle bug! I arrived on 10/14/07
and was adopted on 11/4/07!

Stella came to us from a shelter. She was
thought to need ACL surgery but ended up only needing a re-dock
of her tail because a piece of the bone has broken off! While
she is a little snippy at first around new dogs (just air-snaps,
never connects), she does fine after the initial introduction!
Stella was pulled from the shelter on 7/6/07 and adopted on 8/5/07! |

|
Pedro was rescued from a closet in a crack house.
He weights about 17 lbs right now and we don't think he'll top
25! He was estimated to be about 7 months old and is a big bundle
of love!
Pedro arrived on 7/22/07 and was adopted on 8/2/07! |
|
Timmy was pulled from a home when he got stuck
in the middle of a domestic dispute. He tried to follow one of
his owners out the front door and she picked him up and threw
him at the wall, crushing 4 of his metacarpals in his little paw.
That's why it was in a cast! Timmy was about 4-5 months old and
is such a sweetheart. He's never without a smile!
Timmy arrived on 7/1/07 and was adopted on 7/31/07! |

Maisey came to us from a shelter up near Fort
Collins. She was deemed "unadoptable" because she's
shy and was supposedly "aggressive". She was scheduled
to be euthanized. One of our volunteers met her and fell in love,
and rescued her just in time!
Maisey arrived at our house on 7/20/07 and was
adopted to a wonderful family in Colorado Springs on 7/23/07! |
|
Clancy came to us from a shelter in Nebraska.
His time was up and he was scheduled to be euthanized. The shelter
said he was "dog aggressive" and "nippy".
Well, let me tell you -- Clancy LOVES to play with our dogs! Non-stop!
He runs right into his kennel when it's time for bed and listens
really well too!
Clancy arrived on 7/1/07 and was adopted out to
a great family in Fairplay on 7/19/07! |

 |
Cookie (black & white) was a 10 month old
pup who came to us from DDFL. She failed her evaluation because
she was very mouthy... but we knew she had a good heart! She was
adopted by someone in Breckenridge, so she has lots of trails
to hike and open space to run in!
Cookie arrived on 5/28/07 and was adopted on 7/1/07!
Roxie (red) also stayed at our house for a short
while -- she came to us from a farm and was a working dog there
before she went deaf. She was adopted out and then returned, but
has just been adopted out again to a new family in Colorado Springs.
YAY ROXIE! |
|
Madge came to us from the Boulder Humane Society.
She was at a DDC and then was bleeding so we pulled her to bring
her to the vet. Then she caught kennel cough so we moved her to
a foster home where there were no other dogs. While there, she
suckered Nichole into adopting her. Yay Madge! |

21, 2007! |

at the Petco Adoption Fair on April 21st, 2007. Good for her but
sad for me! |

Prince was rescued from the Brighton Animal Shelter. He was a
stray dog that they had picked up on the street. He was estimated
to be about 9-12 months old and was not neutered when they picked
him up. The shelter was overcrowded and he'd been there a while,
so they were going to put him down. Luckily they called Misha
May first! We took Prince in on January 23rd, 2007 and he was
adopted on February 22nd, 2007 to a great family with a nice big
backyard for him to play in! |
|
| Lucky was a courtesy listing through the Misha
May Foundation. He was a pure-bred Springer Spaniel who had
developed epilepsy and had seperation anxiety (which would trigger
the epilepsy) because his owner was gone long hours at work. Two
of our clients had been looking for another Springer Spaniel so
we forwarded Lucky's information onto them. It turned out that Lucky
looked exactly like one of their old dogs, who had also had epilespy
too! They took him home the next week, where he now has two more
Springer Spaniels to play with, a brother, Teddy, and a sister,
Joni! |

Darcy was our first foster dog and came to us from the Rocky
Mountain Border Collie Rescue on July 25th, 2006. Darcy had
been tied up to a post in the yard most of her life so had no "house-manners".
She would jump on everyone and everything and submissively pee at
every movement when we first got her. We brought her to obedience
classes and she has improved tremendously since we first got her.
She gets along wonderfully with our dog, Neisa, and they love playing
all day long! |
|
| Ike was our third foster dog and came to us from the Rocky
Mountain Border Collie Rescue on August 2nd, 2006. Ike was going
to be euthanized because he was "too ball obsessed". Seriously!
He was adopted on October 14, 2006 right after Stormy went home.
Ike's new home consists of Molly, another border collie, Bonnie
the cat, and Sally & Rich. |
|
|
|
Stormy was our second foster dog and came to us from the Rocky
Mountain Border Collie Rescue on July 27th, 2006. She was surrendered
for nipping, but we never had any problems with that! Stormy was
adopted on October 14, 2006 and went home to Fort Collins with her
new parents, Kent and Nancy who renamed her Skye. |
